Why did I get charged by ParkWhiz?

Modified on Tue, 23 Jun at 6:47 AM

ParkWhiz serves as a listing service for locations that offer parking. Additionally, we act as a payment facilitator between users purchasing parking, and the operators managing each location.

Here is a breakdown of why you might see a charge from us:

  • Reservation or Book-Ahead
    • When you book parking in advance through our platform, we collect payment on behalf of the parking operator. The charge you see is for the space you have reserved. ParkWhiz processes the payment and transfers it to the parking location.
  • Event or Venue-Specific Parking:
    • If you added event parking or followed a link from certain Venues, the link may have redirected you to ParkWhiz for your purchase. As such, the transaction would show ParkWhiz.
  • Convenience Features:
    • Some locations offer convenience features such as Scan To Pay. If you paid using one of these features, the transaction may show ParkWhiz, rather than the location or operator. Again, we facilitate the payment between the two.

Why Does ParkWhiz Charge Me Instead of the Parking Location?

As a payment facilitator, ParkWhiz processes the payments. We then transfer the funds to the operator.

Why Does ParkWhiz Charge Me Instead of the Parking Location?

Your transaction may appear on your bank or card statement as Chicago, IL or Austin, TX. This does not necessarily mean your parking location was in either city.

The location shown is based on our billing information with our payment processor. We recently updated that billing location from Chicago, IL to Austin, TX, so either may appear during the transition.
